You must be thinking slave kings are a contradiction in terms. I am an artist and my work is all about bringing to life figure from history that lived incredibly dynamic lives. I have the only collection of artwork on slaves who became kings in south Asia, West Asia and North Africa. My collection is called “when saves become the masters.”
Do you know Qutb-minar a fabulous eight story high building in India? it was started by a slave called Qutb-uddin Aibak and finished by another slave king called Shams-uddin-Iltutmish?
