A savanna, or savannah, is a grassland ecosystem characterized by the trees being sufficiently small or widely spaced so that the canopy does not close.

Savanna is a city in Carroll County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,542 at the 2000 census. As of 2005 census estimates, the population had decreased to 3,288.
