The term North London is most commonly used to refer to districts in the N and EN postcode areas. This includes most districts within Enfield, Haringey and Islington, plus some districts within Camden, Barnet and Hackney.

Districts within the NW and HA postcode areas are often referred to as North London, although more precisely and commonly referred to as North West London. This includes districts most within Brent, Camden, Barnet and Harrow.

Colloquial use

Aside from the official definitions, North London refers to areas north of Central London. This area overlaps the informal Central, East, North East, North West and West London areas.
