The Nissan Tiida is a compact car produced in hatchback and sedan form by Japanese automaker Nissan. Marketed by its maker and classified by most reviewers as a subcompact car in the United States and Canada due to its exterior size, the U.S. EPA considers the North American Versa model a midsize car as it does all Nissan cars. The Tiida replaces both the long-running Pulsar and the Sunny models by September 30, 2004. Available as the Tiida in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Middle East, Mauritius, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay, South Africa, former eastern bloc countries, China and Sri Lanka, it is also known in export markets as the Nissan Versa (United States and Canada) and Nissan Latio (Southeast Asia). The Tiida is based on the new global Nissan B platform with the wheelbase stretched.
