Where is Nagaland?
Nagaland is a state in India. It is located in Northeast India, on India's border with Myanmar. The Indian state of Manipur borders Nagaland on the south. The Indian states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh border Nagaland on the north and west. At 6,401 square miles, Nagaland is a little larger than Connecticut and a little smaller than Kuwait. It has just under 2 million people, about the same population as New Mexico.Nagaland is a mountainous area. Most areas are above 2,000 feet. The high point is Mount Saramati (elevation 12,552 feet) on the border with Myanmar.Nagaland is a tribal area with at least 60 languages. Most ethic groups are of Sino-Tibetan stock. Christianity made great inroads into Nagaland in the 1800's and today 75% of the population in Nagaland is Baptist and 90% adheres to some form of Christianity.Weblinks for Nagaland
