History
Teleperformance was initially founded in Paris, by Daniel Julien. In 1986, its first international subsidiaries were also formed, in Belgium and Italy.
Between 1986 and 1987, working with Jacques Berrebi and Christophe Allard, SR. communication is founded.
Teleperformance Austria, and other European Markets (Including Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. were then founded, in 1988.
Later, in 1993, Teleperformance USA was founded, which would then merge with Calltech Communications in 2002.
Later Timeline
- 1996 - 1998: Development of contact center activities in the Asia-Pacific region with the establishment of operations in Australia, Philippines, Singapore and South Korea. Stronger presence in Europe with multiple acquisitions, or start-ups in Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands and Finland.
- 1999-2002: SR. Communication and Teleperformance merge to create SR. Teleperformance. SR.Teleperformance develops Technical Assistance solutions and launches the TechCity Solutions brand in parallel. Extension of the contact center network throughout the Americas, into Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Canada.
- 2005: SR. Teleperformance achieved over a billion Euro revenues (1.19 billion € in revenues)
- 2006: SR. Teleperformance continues to expand into eastern regions with the acquisition of Teleperformance Russia and Teleperformance China. SR. Teleperformance becomes Teleperformance. Teleperformance completes the re-launch of the Global Portal website along with 12
individual country sites.
- 2007: Teleperformance acquires twenty4help Knowledge Service AG to expand on their commitment to the technical support / help desk arena in the EU. Teleperformance acquires AllianceOne, a leading Accounts Receivable Management company in the US.
- 3/20/2009: Teleperformance acquires Dell Pasay for undisclosed amount including all the Dell Facilities.
Class Action Lawsuit
On May 7, 2008 a Class action lawsuit was filed against Teleperformance USA seeking unpaid wages for employees and alleging a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. As of November 14, 2008, the case is still in progress.
On March 23, 2009 a Class action lawsuit was filed against Teleperformance Philippines seeking unpaid wages for employees and alleging a violation of the Labor Code.
