Asian-African Conference

Twenty-nine countries representing over half the world's population sent delegates. The conference reflected what they regarded as a reluctance by the Western powers to consult with them on decisions affecting Asia in a setting of Cold War tensions; their concern over tension between the People's Republic of China and the United States; their desire to lay firmer foundations for China's peace relations with themselves and the West; their opposition to colonialism, especially French influence in North Africa and French colonial rule in Algeria; and Indonesia's desire to promote its case in the dispute with the Netherlands over western New Guinea (Irian Barat).

Asian-German Sports Exchange Program

AGSEP works with students from leading German universities who are in exchange programs and doing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the fields of economics, political science, social science, engineering and other disciplines. The organisation intends to assist the divided ethnic groups of Sri Lanka to grow together and find peace by exposing the children of the island to children of other ethnic groups as part of sporting events.

Asian-Pacific City Summit

The Asian-Pacific region is drawing global attention for its remarkable economic growth. This rapid economic expansion has, however, also aggravated urban problems associated with a massive influx of new residents. In response to this a social situation, the Asia-Pacific City Summit has been held every other year since1994, as a forum where leaders of Asian-Pacific region cities can get together and have exchanges of opinions in a candid manner.

Asian-Scots

Asian-Scots or Scottish Asians are Scottish citizens citizens of South Asian ancestry or South Asian immigrants to Scotland. Bangladeshi, Indians, Pakistani & Sri Lankan are the main social groups who are affiliated with the term.

Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization

The Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) is an international governmental organization formed in 1956, initially to serve as an advisory board to member states on matters on international law. It was an outgrowth of the Bandung Conference, held in Indonesia during April, 1955, which led to the establishment of the Asian Legal Consultative Committee (ALCC). In April, 1958, it changed its name to the Asian-African Legal Consultative Committee (AALCC) to reflect the growth of its membership beyond the African side of the UAR. Since 2001, it has been known by its current name, the AALCO, reflecting the growth of its international status; currently an Intergovernmental organization having received a standing UN invitation to participate as an observer in the sessions and the work of the General Assembly and maintaining a permanent office at Headquarters.

Asian-Pacific American

Asian-Pacific American is a term that was used in the United States to include both Asian Americans and Americans of Pacific Islander American due to its official use as a race on the United States Census between the years 1990 and 2000. Since 2000 the United States Census Bureau has split these two groups apart because the majority of the people included in the term considered themselves to be two separate groups when questioned by the anthropologists who designed the racial definitions for the 2000 US Census. Now, Asian American and Pacific Islanders are two separate races on the US Census 2000, so the term Asian-Pacific American has decreased in use. The Asian and Pacific Islander Student Center at CSU Pomona defines an "Asian & Pacific Islander" as someone with ancestry from West, Central, North, East, South, Southeast, and East Asia and someone whose ancestry is from the Pacific Islands.

The Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal is an open-access biannual journal published by the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii. It is dedicated to issues facing Asia and the Pacific Rim.
