Major-General August von Kruse (b. 1779 in Wiesbaden, Nassau (modern-day Germany) - d. January 1848) commanded the Nassau infantry brigade at the Battle of Waterloo. Under secret orders from the Duke of Nassau, he had placed his brigade under the command of the Duke of Wellington. The brigade was stationed at Hougoumont, where the first action of the Battle of Waterloo took place.
