The site also includes recipes from Bon Appétit magazine and Gourmet magazine. The site accepts recipe contributions from readers. The name is a portmanteau of "epicure", one with discriminating tastes in food or wine, and curious, and is a pun on the etymological origin of "epicure", Epicurus, a Greek philosopher.
